Suzanne Spalding
“Through fusing I am reminded of glasses’ true liquid nature, enjoying the transformation of the kiln, the mingling of the color layers, and newfound freedom of form, comments Scottsdale fused glass artist, Suzanne Spalding.
Currently her larger pieces are platters, hanging pieces and masks. The mask format allows almost unlimited creative opportunities. Suzanne says, “I’m surprised myself at the many directions they’ve taken me, through the human expressions, plant and animal form, and inspired by a world that has shaped my creative soul.” Suzanne looks forward each day to wherever inspiration leads her. Suzanne has worked with glass for over twenty-five years. She has had the opportunity to work on many large commissions, including churches in Arizona and New Mexico.
